Staycation Inspo - The Lakes. Where to stay - Fallbarrow Holiday Park, Bowness on Windermere

Gary and I have stayed in many a spa hotel or fancy b&b in different areas of the Lakes. We took Orlaith twice when she was younger and stayed in hotels which was just a bit of a nightmare (babies need a lot of stuff!). We wanted to book last minute when we had that epic heatwave in the summer of 2018, all the self catering cottages were fully booked and so we ended up booking our first caravan holiday on a holiday park and we haven’t looked back since.

We LOVE Fallbarrow holiday park in Bowness-On-Windermere and have stayed four times now. The park itself has some lovely facilities - a bar/restaurant, a playground, a shop, entertainment during the summer months but what I love most is it’s location; it is right on Lake Windermere but walking distance to the amenities in Bowness. You can get total peace and quiet and tranquillity, but then walk to the pub for lunch. We’ve stayed in two different types of caravan, both great, and when a few of us went a couple of years ago we stayed in one of the lodges with a hot tub which was gorgeous.
